Kemis is more than a dress.
It is a story of cotton, craftsmanship, creativity, culture and community. From the cotton field to the spinning of thread, from the traditional loom to the intricate tibeb, every garment represents knowledge passed through generations.
The Kemis celebration brings that living story into a modern Colorado community through fashion, art, music, dance, food and friendship.

Kemis has deep roots in Ethiopian textile and clothing traditions. But culture grows when it is shared.
You don't have to be Ethiopian. You don't have to be a model or fashion expert. You simply have to come ready to celebrate.
